Once my tank is cycled I'll be looking to get some Cories .. So .... I was wondering what everyone has and if they've got any photos to help me decide - I hear these are fab fish to keep and watch!

Hi,i`ve got bronze corries and albinos,[5 and 3],in my 110l,lovely fish to watch ,very good community fish.

I'm gonna get some for my Jew tank but I used to have them and they are so entertaining :)

i really like sterbai corys. you can find pics on google etc. all corys are cool though...they have great little personalities!! one of my favourite fish!! remember to keep them in groups though, preferably on a sand substrate.

L. :good:

New tank not Jew :S
lol, autocorrect?!

I am waiting on my lfs getting me 10-15 corydoras habrosus (salt & pepper cories) :hyper: can't wait! They so cute!

wow i googled both the above corys and they are both awesome!! did have a gravel substrate but changed it today to black sand especially for the corys :good: saw some panda corys today - they look pretty cool too! this is gonna be a very hard decision to choose

panda cory here :good:

saw some today -- love the patches over the eyes. btw great ship wreck in your tank!

what temp is your tank? Sterbai cories are ok in high temps but all other cories need lower temps 21-24 degrees!

Thank you :good:

I agree with this. Although i do see panda cory has a mixed review of temps, some people say 28c max and some say 25c.
My panda cory normally sit at around 27c, i did drop the temp to 24c and they lost alot of colour/look stressed.

I have the following

10 Corydoras habrosus
5 Venezualen Corys
2 Pandas & Albion Corys

They are great fish and do have loads of personality.

currently, it's 30C as i'm trying to get rid of Ich whilst the tank is still cycling :-(

i was thinking about keeping it around this temperature to prevent any further ich outbreaks but if it won't suit the panda cory then i will perhaps finish stocking my tank and put them in last and turn the temp down. (if it's panda's i decide on as i also like the julii).

are there any cory's out there that are ok in the high temperature bracket? i'm sure i read somewhere the adolfoi and sterbai like it hot?? (upto 30C)

Corydoras melanistius (black sail/spotted cory) here :) Look pretty much like pandas I suppose. I've never seen anyone else here mention them, but then again I guess I only picked them out over all the other species in the shop because they looked the cutest :D

adolphi corys are also really cute!! bit like pandas but with an orange stripe near their eyes! so much choice but all corys have great characters so its really a case of what you like the look of!! glad you changed the gravel for sand...they'll appreciate it. it is also very interesting to watch them filtering the sand through their gills!! feed them fresh or frozen blood worms once in a while too and you will have super happy corys!! (nb there is not a huge amount of nutritional value in the worms so don't feed them these all the time!) let us know what you decide on!!

L. :D

ps sterbai are good with 30 degree temperatures...i used to keep them with discus. not sure about adolphi's..i have only kept them in a tank with a temperature of 25. you could look it up though...

Most corys are happy at temps between 22-25 degrees, sterbai's can handle temps 28-30,the only corys that i'm aware of...

Having the tank temp to high will stress out corys and shorten their lifespan.

Anyhows i have so far -

9 pandas plus 5 youngsters & numerous fry :)
6 skunks
6 gold lasers
6 Black schultzi
