Corydoras Weitzmani

Nice cories I would love to get more cories I just wish that different species could be ok in singles with other single species than a group of 6 of the same type....

Some of my cory only 2 or 3 at same species but living with orther cory they are happy that could be. As long as not the only lonely single cory in the tank. But most people recommened to have 6 or more, sometime can't help it. I have one cory rare and wild cought bought for 5 and only 1 survived, but he doing fine with other cory and didn't shows the signs any stress or unhappy.

That what I see in my Cory tank.  :D

I have the same with a wild caught melanotanea. The are the shiest things and very delicate. If anything goes wrong one is liable to bite the dust. I have thought I had lost the last one more than once, but then one will jump and scatter across the tank running into everything to get to cover. I may move it in with the aeneus. It may be more comfortable with them. It looks more like them.

But really, who knows how happy they would be with their own clan? I have thought fish were happy. Then I changed their situation and saw them get happier. And happier Cories are a big delight!

I understand about only having one of a species. While I dont try to do it, sometimes it just happens. For example, if you see a lone cory in a LFS and you feel sorry for it and pick it up. It ends up in your tank by itself, but at least it has other cories to associate with.

I have a lone C. leucomelas left over from when I traded all my cories a while back. It was a big mistake and I lost a lot of good fish. I wish I still had them, but oh well. Im slowly rebuilding my collection, but even better this time :D

What was the trade about? You lost them because you no longer had them? Did you try to go in a different direction with your hobby?

Yes, getting the last one or two in a tank from the lfs or when the lfs says, "Oh! two will be fine!" Of course I had said, "6? I don't want to get 6! Can't I just get 2?"

For some reason I got it in my head to trade them for some loaches. Dont get me wrong, I still like and want loaches, but I had some adult wild caught C. melanistius I wish I still had. Not to mention the C. leucomelas, melini and paleatus I traded. I did keep my bronze C. aeneus and I have had them for close to 2 years now.
