I was wondering if having corydoras with white skirt tetra is a bad idea. Is it?

I imagine they would be okay, so long as you have enough whiteskirts that they don't get nippy. My whiteskirts are mostly top dwellers. Mine also live with a gloshark, so that could be the reason. From what I have seen, the skirt tetras prefer a heavily planted aquarium, or they stay nervous and nippy.

So long as you have a sand substrate and your ph, gh, and tank footprint are within acceptable parameters for corycats.

Hi!

I believe they would be fine together. I’ve had lots of cories mixed with all sorts of tetras and they completely ignore each other. Cories tend to stay on the bottom and sift around the substrate whereas tetras hang out higher up in the water.

Make sure to take into consideration that cories like to be with lots of their own. Six is the minimum I would do. Be mindful of how big the tank is when deciding on the amount.

Hello :)
Measurements of your tank ?
Be careful as Male can become very territorial in small tank, often dislodging scales and ripping fins of even larger tankmates.

So is it heavily planted? Also should I get more skirts to make a bigger school? Wouldn’t they bully the other fish? How many? I have five another died this week

You should not add any fish for 20 to 30 days after a death, if you are unsure what caused it. With the blue light, I can't actually see much of the inside of the tank. I would say 30% to 40% of tank volume as plants would be good for them. The skirts I have became more active and less shy at the 9 fish mark, but 6 is considered the minimum. Corydoras also do well in groups of 6 or more.

To give better advice, we would need the tank measurements as Avel1896 mentioned. Ph and gh (water hardness) would tell us if the water is in a good range for the fish.

The two mentioned species will get along, provided there are adequate numbers of each to meet the fish's expectation, and the environment (water parameters, sand substrate, plants, etc) is what they expect.

Skirt Tetras, whether Black, White, or whatever variant, is considered a mildly aggressive species. Such fish are more demanding in what they "expect" and can get downright nasty if stressed. A larger group is usually one way to minimize this, say 9-10, and in a suitably sized aquarium (minimum 30 gallons, or 30 inch/75cm length but larger would be better). But yes, they are tempted to bully, this is in their nature, and individual fish may decide to act accordingly. You might want to consider another species if this worries you.

Here’s my water parameters

No issues here for the species being considered, assuming the cories will be the more common species and not direct imported wild cories. Can you give us the tank dimensions?

Thirty gallon tall

Is the tank length 30 inches for this tank? If yes, you could do a group of 9-10 Skirts and a group of say 12 cories. Just keep in mind the skirts instincts as other upper fish in this small a space (to the fish it is small) is going to push the Skirts.

@Ravenes you quoted me.................. without answer

Is it a L36.25 x W12.625 x H16.75 30 gallon ??
