I'm going to set my 2ft tank up for some cories (and rasbora perhaps) and was wondering if you guys could give me some inspiration?

Will be using sand seeing as it's only a small tank, and would like some plant ideas - but am doing this on a budget, and am crap at DIY so nice plain but pretty set up ideas needed. Wont be using CO2 or anything snazzy like that lol.

Thanks!

if you want something a little special on the rasbora front they have boraras bridgitte at Paws For Thought at the moment. 5 for £5. They're pretty sensitive but absolutely gorgeous and just sooooo tiny :good:

can't help with teeh cories though

Ooh thanks for the heads up there Alice - I already know what cories I'm getting...well...I've got a short list anyway for Lee/CorysRusUK - either concolors or axelrodii...or....well....ok I'll decide later lol. But I know where I'm getting them from (our brochis from him are superb).

I'm really excited about this - I know, it's a bit tragic to be excited about a 2ft tank when you've already got two big 6ft ones, but it's my tank, and it's going to be my pretty tank - my big plec tank is just practical - not much to look at lol!

Here are some of mine. Im not using live plants as of yet, but plan too in the near future.

Im about to move them all, so Im sure the landscaping will change again :S

I would about wet myself if I could have a cory only tank!

The good thing is you don't need too much height for them, I just didn't want to do it in my Rio 180 because I already had my fave plec and a couple of other bottom feeders in there.

heres my 2x1x1 tank

it has some long finned bronzes and some trilineatus, as well as a shoal of hengeli rasboras just to make something interesting for the upper levels.

For plants with cories i recommend java fern and java moss, both good plants that cories seem to like to spawn on :) if you see in the bottom right hand corner of the tank there is a big bush of java moss that i have just let grow and not trimmed, and my cories have spawned in that a couple of times.

Cabomba grows like wildfire usually, jave fern/assorted mosses are usually pretty bomb proof but don't grow very quickly. Often it's a hit and miss job- what thrives in some tanks refuses to live in others. Like vallis- some people have it growing yards long, others can't grow it at all, even with good lighting, CO2 etc.
