I'll shortly (though maybe not as shortly as I'd hoped :grr: ) be upgrading my 60l tank to the Fluval Roma 125 (125L) and I'd like some ideas on Corys I could have.

Basically all the current stocking will be moving over (in my sig) but to that I'll be adding 3 more Pygmy Corys so I have 10 and maybe a small shoal (say 6 or 7) of Harlequins.

I need ideas on small but not too small Corys I can have too. Again it'll be a small shoal but I really do want another, slightly bigger shoal of Corys. I did look at Peppers but they seem like they might be too big. I think I'm probably looking at ones that get to the 2/2.5 inch mark. So far I think I have the option of

  • Pandas
  • Julis

Are there any more that I'm missing?

Thanks

There is a topic about this already on here :good:

PERSONALLY, i wouldn't want to mix types on cories in same tank (unless i had a tank big enough to have 20ish of each) got 20 bronzes in my tank dont think id want that 20 to be a mix of diff types, but obv atleast as you've got atleast 6 of each type you want will be good, just that cories of the same type interact with each other more. and poster above gave you want you wanted on the types :good:

I have 6 panda's in my tank and plan on doubling the number at the very least.

They are young at the minute only an inch or so long but do group up and swim together, a bigger group would look better. There with 18 harlequins and that number may increace too as the group behaviour is amazing to see and the bigger the group....

where you from twinklecaz? I know of a breeder in the north east who has a great range.

I've just picked up some pandas and duplicareus

If not in the north east then it's worth hunting out ste12000 on a well known auction site and seeing what he has

I know what you're saying and I have considered just upping my Pygmys to like 15 or something but I really want something bigger. I feel like I just don't see them. I guess I'm kind hoping that the two groups together will make each other feel more secure.

lol Kev, no I'm South-East...right down the other end. Thanks for the tip about Ste :(

Pandas are probably smaller compared to Tri's (false julii)more than likely to tri's has opposed to true julii's.

Both cories are excellent, although i would say the pandas are more active & out in the open compared to the tri's...

Has regards your pygmys,i have 15 and not very often see them, unless they want to rampage through the tank, then they shoal with the harleys.
I think my pygmys done better on their own in a smaller tank, has opposed to the bigger tank.
Why dont you keep them in your 60l for a while on their own when you've upgraded and see if they'll breed?... mine did

Hi Harlequins! :)

I'd love to do that but it's space. My new TV will be going where the 60l is :(

Where there's a will, there's a way... i'm sure you could squeeze it in somewhere ;)

LOl! I have been thinking about this since yesterday, trying to think how I could do it.
