I had an electrician come out today to fix the oven. I was stressing over whether or not they would be wearing a face mask. I had told the real estate agent that anyone who comes out must wear a mask due to my health issues but wasn't sure if they passed the message on. They did and I was much less stressed when I saw the sparky (electrician) at the door wearing a face mask. I thanked him for wearing it and he said no problem

There's still lots of people around here coughing and the government still denies covid19 is here. I have no idea why the government has its head in the sand and won't send down a team to investigate.

Colin, my son works as a handyman/electrician. He researched all the UK guidelines for current safe working.

He must wear a mask.
He must sanitise his hands before entering and leaving a property, and several times inside the property.
He must wipe down any surface he has touched before leaving the property (the exception being the inside of an electrical fitting)
He must work with a window or door open in the room he's working in.
He must ask all the occupants of the property to remain outside the room he is working in.
If it is necessary to pass another person, they must pass back to back not facing each other.

There must be other things as well which I've forgotten or he's not mentioned.


You could always ask the people coming to your home to stick to those regulations, and more.

I will print it out and laminate it then stick it on the door. Non compliance means no entry.

It wasn't too bad. The sea breeze was in (first time in months) and I had the bathroom window open and the front door open. The wind blew through the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen loungeroom and out the front door. Three flies came in and got sprayed but that was it. I sat in my room upwind

After the sparky left I ran around and disinfected everything. Damn ocd

One that I forgot - he must wear a pair of brand new gloves for each job unless the job is difficult to do when wearing them. Eg, messing with thin bits of wiring is apparently almost impossible with gloves on.

As a whole. At least, that what the dutch goverment has told the nation today. And as from today no incoming flights from the UK, South Africa and South America are allowed. And tomorrow we will know if we´ll have a curfew starting this coming weekend.

?Two neighbours and five colleagues have got covid these past few days. I'm isolating but return to work next week. I wish I could hibernate. Despite all our risk reduction measures, the UK variant spreads fast, far and wide.
