I'm switching my divided tank to opaque dividers and saw some cork board today that I think would be an interesting look, but is it betta safe? I can't imagine why it wouldn't be, but I figured I'd get a few opinions just incase...

erm...im not sure, iv never heard of cork board being used in any type of aquarium before. im also not sure how its manufatured or how it holds up against water...if u think it'll be ok then go for it

It's just cork, like corks you'd find in wine bottles, only in board form... so I know it holds up to water, I'm just not sure if it's fish safe :p

Hmm...I guess cork would be non toxic, as long as they don't put any chemicals in it's structure it should be ok. Hopefully there is nothing harmful that will leach into the water. Hopefully someone else on here knows.

o that kind of cork board, i was thinking something else. it depends on how its proessed, if chemicals are used it could be a problem, but its unlikely. just soak it for a day and it should be ok.

Alrighty, sounds good
I bought a kind that isn't very tightly compressed, so it's probably fine as far as chemicals go

I would test a piece out in a bucket of water, before i put it in the aquarium.
I don't think the the cork itself will hurt the fish, but whatever they used to treat the cork and glue to get the particles to stick together might disolve, or cause problems.
