CONVICTS

Got the convict its the opposite of what i though lol the other fish are picking on him and hes showing no sines of agression but its only the first hour so we will see

What are some tankmates i can have with my convict besides the barbs and guarami

This is a 33 gal correct?

What are all the fish you have in there right now?

bugsy.... :)

convict 3 tiger barbs and a thick lipped guarami

Anyone

My friend wants convicts. I thought they are a little to aggresive because of what happens when they breed. I thought breeding convicts is like "just add water and-" nothin to it. Is it true they are easy to breed?

so easy that most LFS won't take the fry. there are many people who breed convicts so they can feed the fry to other predatory fish.

i just bought one so it would not be so aggresive.......im prob going to get 5 tiger barbs in total but i would still like 1 more cichlid

please don't get "one more cichlid". SA Cichlids are highly territorial by nature and any cichlid that your convict can't mate with will be percieved as a competitor.

its artificial and unkind to force multiple SA Cichlids to co-exist in cramped quarters. you'll get the best results by keeping your convict all by himself in a tank as small as 33g. cramming one more cichlid in there will only result in constant fighting and damaged fish.

a-1 just dont get mad at me buddie i never knew that he seems to be doing really good with the guarami wich made me extremly suprised there always together at all times

I dont think a Convict would have much trouble in catching a Tiger Barb at all, those guys are fast.

its been a day since i got him and still no problems so i dont think he is going to be a prob in the long run....maybe ween i add more fish he might try and kill them since he has his territory ...il see

i got home from school today and my convict was on the florr.... have no clue how he got there the only whole on my cover is like 4 inches big and on 3 feet away from were he was ...hes still alive at the moment but he prob is not going to make it another 5 hours he was completly dry on the ground so he must have been there for a while so i put him in the tank and he sort of flopped so i watched him and every 5 min he would move like 6 inches so maybe he will live who knows i hope so

HA!

Nope, well, yes & no. I bought six, waited for them to pair off and stuff, and separated them all, returning two pairs to the LFS.

Missy convict tried to spawn once with her mate, then ran off with my big bully Jade-Eye male!

Go figure!
