I have a gold severum and a blue acara and fully plan to add Ellioti, so I am saying yes to that!

those 3 species can be mixed fine as long as your tank is big enough. ime its best to avoid pairs in mixed cichlid tanks due to the extra agression during spawning . i would just go for a single ellioti

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I had my Ellioti pair in with my Rotkeil severum pair, both seem to only take up a small area with the eggs. Never had any problems with spawning the Rotties had one end of the tank the Ellioti the other, although in a 400l tank, I wouldnt recommend it in anything smaller. Never any damage, lots of displaying and nose to nose in the middle of the tank but no biting.

I am just really lucky I have well behaved fish
