i cant believe im the only one on here to think of this, i dont plan to do it BUT i do got the plans in my head if you want to, anyway i wanted to make pvc pipe(pretty big, big enough for all your fish to swim comfortably threw)make the pvc pipe connect two(or more) tanks together

kinda like the pic(1st pic) in this thread but instead of it coming back to this tank it goes to another tank...http://fish.orbust.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=31174

in most cases itd go out the top of the tank, that is unless you want to cut holes in your tanks(yeah right)

also you guys know you can make a take out of a rubbermaid container? it works just like a tank except you cant see threw plastic(great for feeder fish, or whatnot)

I believe doing that was disscussed in that thread. I didnt look back, but I seem to remeber a discussion about how water could be pulled from one tank to another (higher water level to lower) This wouldnt have any huge effect though, because the siphon effect would stop when the water levels were balanced again. I think it would be a neat thing to see for sure.

no i have a way around that, its slipping my mind at the moment (the exact details) but i can remember most, you have a super strong power head going from one tank to the next, two or more might be needed, sucking the water into the next tank then have the pvp pipe inbetween the two and have it rigged so the water geting sucked threw the powerhead(s) is equal to the water going threw the tubes... now i did have it figured out how to do this properly w/ the water pressures and whatnot, but i cant think of it now...

oh yeah youd require alot hose going from one tanks powerhead to the next tank, witch would be pretty obvious and would stick out like a sore thumb, unless you guys rig up some McGyver junk... i dunno

Once the pvc gateway is up and running you can use anything to move water from one tank to the other, it does not have to be powerful. Reason is gravity maintains a balance between the tanks. If you take a pint glass and remove 650ML from tank A then there will be a little current in the pvc gateway while 325ML flows from tank B to tank A.

damnit i didnt really want to do this, but now im seriously considering it heh

What a fantastic site on this, thanks for posting the link rollntider.

couldnt you just drill the two tanks as if you were going to install overflows but on the side. they sell glass pipe that they use for chemistry lab drainage tubes that you could probably connect to the tanks. just throwing out ideas. :D

because i didnt want to drill my tanks, but others could if they wanted

The whole thing about a water bridge is that the fish swim up and leave there environment sort of like flying across the room.I really want to build one one of these days.
