I’m trying to come up with a general list so I can look into further detail but would a Bristlenose pleco be fine in my size tank ?

I think most Americans will read the tank volume and assume a certain tank length. The UK doesn't have specific lengths for any given volume - they can be long and shallow, tall and thin or cubes like my 23 litre/6 gallon tank - it's 12 x 12 x 12 inches.

thats true, I had a tank the same volume (120l) but it was much longer, slimmer and taller

You could have Microdevario Kubotai for your crowd scenes. I wish I could. Lovely fish. I’ve noticed when they’re in my local MA everyone stops n stares at them. 12 or 15+ look stunning. Every time I see them I start working out the RO water %s required to keep them round our way.

Just been reading up on cory’s and read that they can release a toxin when under stress, I’ve never heard of this - have any of you guys experienced it ?

Usually times it happens is during shipments, even so its very very rare.

Ive ordered cories online, ive bought local... only ever lost 1 during shipment.

It is a rare incident, usually in your aquarium, there is no major stress unless you deliberately put a predator with them.

Ok thank you for clearing that up :)

I don't know if panda cories in the UK are bred in the same place as those sold in the US but we have a few American members who are having trouble with them dying for no apparent reason.

I tried having six panda cories before I knew better (store said it was fine for my 15 gallon!) and they died off one by one over a month or so. They were in harder water than they should have been, but less than a month seems fast for the wrong hardness to kill them? But it wasn't ammonia/nitrites/nitrates/temp or any other obvious cause or sign of disease. Just... died, one by one. I was devastated. That's only anecdotal experience from one person though, others might have had no problem with them, I just won't be risking them again myself, as adorable as they are.

today I’ve been looking at dwarf neon rainbows (rainbow praecox) as my shoaling fish and I quite like them, what are your views on them ? And would my water be too soft ?

I think I would need a longer tank for these guys ?
