Common Frog

For information, Poison Dart Frogs kept in captivity are not poisonous, its to do with a different diet to their wild one.

I have heard that they're a nightmare to keep alive though, dunno how true it is.

i like the fire bellied newt and there cheap. it says they only need a 5g tank but im not sure if a hex tank would be any good for them

how big a tank do they need? and what temp dose it need to be?

One can be kept in a 10 gallon, but a 14 would be better. No they are not poisionus in captivity. The are also not a beginner frog. Yeah a fire bellied newts are okay in a 5 gallon. A long would be better than a hex, as there would be a larger foot print of the tank. One newt would be suited for a 5 gallon long, but not hex.

no i have a 5g hex tank and i am thinking of making a 7-8g tank that i read is big enough for 2 the tank dimentions will be about 40cm by 30cm by 25cm

Yeah, You could put two newts, but for Fire Bellied Toads, you might fit 2 in there. I hope that you be able to beep an ample supply of crickets for them! I am going to be housing a months stock at a time. That is 100 crickets for one month. A five gallon he would be more on the tall side, am I corret, so It would be more suited for a type of tree frog, but I think that the space is limited, so there won't bu much that would go in there, in the tree frog catagory that is.

the tree frogs i looked at needed bigger tanks
and yh the hex tank is about 30by 25 by30cm

I know that there are some such as whites tree frog that could live in a 10 or 20 gallon tall, but they are harder to keep than the newts would be.
