The pods dont allow you to control the strength of the coffee and to brew a larger batch at once. Nothing as fresh as fresh ground coffee. And those pods are ridiculously high priced compared to drip brewing your own coffee.
And they make pods with soup & all kinds of weird stuff.
weak coffee & way overpriced

I do have a Keurig and will use this stuff early in the morning before I go running. I only use it because my local Starbucks is closed at 4:30 am. I prefer the term ''use'' because coffee to me isn't an enjoyable beverage, it is a tool that I use to be a functional human.

2X the caffeine! That should rev your engine!

What’s your favorite? I grind beans every morning. From a Pennsylvania roaster, purchased in 5 pd bags when they have sales. The company tells me they stay fresh in the foil bags for 9 months, which probably means well over a year. Prior to finding this roaster, the after Christmas sale at Starbucks was a high point of the year. Bought & froze enough to last a year. I prefer a medium roast like Sumatra.
I had two cups of freshly ground panama geisha that my friend brings me when he goes to Panama for his job. I roast my own because I like dark roast. I also like Arabic coffee too with a little cardamon. truthfully, it’s rare for me to find a coffee I dislike.

I’ve thought of roasting my own, or at least some, for ages. The high prices I saw for green beans deterred me because I was afraid I’d ruin them.

I have a Dolce Gusto Majesto

I love my frothy coffee, need at least 3 mugs before/during breakfast to get the braincell moving....favourites are Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte, Vanilla Latte and Amaretto Latte

I’m no coffee aficionado by any means but even I know Starbucks is lowest common denominator muck.

Douwe Egberts Pure Gold medium roast for instant as it’s the most tolerable I’ve found plus it comes in glass jars with an air suction lid that look like genuine storage jars. Weve about 50 now and I’m gonna use some to make infusoria when I start next springs breeding projects.

For stove top or french press use I’m still searching for the coffee I love. Must’ve got through 100 types so far and though almost all have had their plus points there’s been none hit all the spots.
Been tipped off to use the Syrian coffee retailers in Old Compton St, London once my lockdown shielding is up next week and I’m allowed on buses, trains, tubes etc. That streets the Gay centre of the U.K. so I’m expecting this coffee to be very tasteful and of a really good standard as that market really really don’t want anything but the best. They’ve hundreds of different blends from all over the world. So with a bit of luck I may find something equal to the best coffee I ever tasted which was in Melbourne.

I do not care what the High Street version of Starbucks is like, especially since I have never used one of their stores and am unable to do so anyway. I just enjoy the Nescafe Dolce Gusto versions :)

On the instant coffee I like Nescafe Azera Americano or Kenco Millicano Americano :)

(Lavazza is seriously over rated)

I value sleep more than my money, so I sleep until the last possible second I have to leave for work. I usually just get some crappy McDonald's ice coffee with a shot of espresso on the way in.

If I'm feeling like spoiling myself I'll grab a black cold brew with sweet cream cold foam from an actual coffee shop. I wish I had the willpower to make cold brew at home, I love it dearly.

I’ll have a look at those two instants. I may have tried the Kenco but being a child of the 60s/70s have avoided anything with Nescafé on the label for decades now.

Sounds like you’ve located some primo coffee shops! I wouldn‘t exactly call Starbucks muck, but I am forever amused by a taste test once done in NYC. Starbucks & McDonalds were offered & the vast majority found McDonald’s to be superior. 😂😂😂

Are stove tops/french presses hard to find? Think I see them at the online roaster that sells the beans I buy annually at their big 30% off sale. I get a year’s worth. I’ve used a drip maker for ages, but briefly played with an expresso machine given as a gif.

Never use instant except to flavor my Greek yogurt!

Hey, McDonald’s has good coffee! They beat out Starbucks on blind taste tests.

Loved those Starbucks coffees, but upon learning some have up to 500 calories, had to switch gears and make low calorie alternatives at home. I buy the sugar free version of the same syrups they use & omit the whipped cream, or spray on a small dollop of canned cream. I have a frother that whips up low fat milk nicely. Of course, the heavy cream tastes better but I watch calories.
