Co2 Sensor Failure?

I have been having trouble with my CO2 system since installing it. The sensor currently reads PH=8.8.
I tried one of the 5 in 1 test strips I had and the PH<=6.4. After work I am going to the store and get a PH test kit. Maybe the sensor has been bad all along. How accurate are the test strips?

What CO2 injection setup are you using ?
Test strips are not not great on accuracy at the best of times - but to my knowledge the only way to work out the CO2 content is with the kH & pH readings.

I assume you have a pH controller on your co2 system? This controller needs to be calibrated regularly using the calibration liquid or it becomes inaccurate. That would be my guess at least...

I have a regulator w/solenoid valve attached to a Milwaukee SMS 122 pH/CO2 Controller. I calibrated it when I installed it. but will check it again tonight.

yeah, although I dont use one in my aquarium, I use similar technology pH probes daily at work and they need to be calibrated A LOT. make sure you double check your cal and in the future dont rely on strip test kits cause they're really not accurate at all. get a liquid type

I checked the PH with a kit when I got home and sure emough the sensor is way off base. Need to get some calibration fluid and reset.
