Hi, right i changed my Co2 reactors over yesterday and made a new mix

Connected up all was ok, my last mix only lasted 2 weeks

Woke up this morning and some yeast foam is coming out of air stone

Stopped immediatly and fixed it but the water in the tank has now gone very milky, even though i caught the yeast early

Will this be a problem and how do i get rid of milkyness ?

Maybe try some carbon to draw it out. If you have a filter that is capable of using a micron cartridge or sleeve, put that in your filter for a few hours.

Co2 reactors are totally not my cup of tea....

Come on all you plant tank people....some help here!!!!!

Now my tank is very bad cant see the back.

Ill try the carbon filter if our lass gets back before shops close but i cant see a thing.

The bogwood i put in is colouring the water that much its rediculas and the yeast has made it thinker im begining to worry now

How do i stop the bogwood, i cant take it out because its under rocks and wedged in and the shrimps might get crushed, its so coloured i cant see them to avoid them

Start doing small water changes....15-20 % twice a day. Run the carbon in your filter as well.

Do NOT stir the gravel during this period as this will only add to the cloudiness. These water changes are to clear the water column only!!

If this continues...my only other suggestion is to get a diatom filter. these filters filter very fine particulate matter from the water in a very quick time.

The HOT filter by marineland is a good one because it not only can be set up as a diatom fliter, but a regular canister filter as well.

If you get one of these filters do NOT use the diatom powder that comes with it. It will not be necessary to use it!!

Please keep me up to date on the progress of this problem. Also continue to post on the board as someone who has used Co2 before may have a better solution than I.

Good Luck!!

sounds likes too much water in ur co2 bottle or the pipe too far in! i have 2 running in my tank.... hope the water clears, Sorry i cant help anymore, stix or someone may be able to they used it longer than me!

Got some new filter material, and activated carbon. Ive put them in my canister filter. My marathon 300, it seems like the filter is taking a larger volume of water in per min. then before

The filter has been on for a few hours now, the browness has gone now its just milky now so i suppose ill find out tomorrow

My pearl gourmis has got a red inflamed looking patch under its mouth, now i know the males are supposed to go red but this does not look like a colour change but illness any ideas ?
