Hi
I have a 300l tank with discus, gouramis, and loaches.
Water
Nirite = 0
Ammonia = 0
PH = 6.5
temp = 29 cel
Nitrate = <10ppm
The discus are doing really well. Eating well and growing. Swimming near the fron of tank mostly.
The Gouramis are generally at the top of tank near filter most of the time but will feedmost tof the time (not every time).
Anyway today the loaches were all dead on the botton of tank. In different places. No marks on body. They had been really active recently and a bit less active last day or two. But Still out at times and eating.
Any ideas why they might have died. The fact they ALL went on same day makes me think water or something in it.
The only thing I've been doing lately is adding water clarifier each couple of days to remove some cloudiness that keeps comong back. The LFS suggested that i use this approach as every other reading is fine so it must be an algae or bacteria bloom. Basically the Accu clear clears the water perfectly then over 2-3 days it starts to cloud up again.
I've also been adding some algae control that i've used for 6 months now.
The only other thing is as my KH was zero we have added some KH stabiity booster a weeka ago to help that and in trun keep PH more stable. It ws a bit up and down.
Funny thing was the fish all seemed fine when the PH was moving a bit.
My other question is regarding water testing...............Is it possible to have different readings from top of tank than if water sample taken from bottom. Now obviously think this is very unlikely. but thought i should ask.
Any ideas helpful.
Cheers
