Cloudy water won’t subside

And it was seachem nourish for the plants along with stress guard after a water change.

Flourish Comprehensive Supplement for the Planted Aquarium [assume this is the one you mean] is fine, just don't overdose. The Stress Guard is very questionable, as are any so-called slime coat restorer/protection. I would myself never use this or anything similar. The less chemicals in the tank water the better for the fish.

Yes to the flourish. And stressguard I use to reduce chances of sickness due to stress.

I wouldn't. These chemical concoctions usually do more harm than good. They most assuredly do nothing to counter stress, that I can guarantee, because they cause more stress being in the water. Seachem is merely stealing your money, which in itself is not a danger to the fish, but what the stuff does, is.

I for one use API Tap Water Conditioner as a dechlorinator and Seachem Flourish Comprehensive Supplement for the plants (at half dose). Nothing else.

What about if your fish need treatment of some sort. And do you ever use a clarifier.

The things in post #35 are the items I use on a routine basis.

I never use a clarifier as most of those work by clumping particles together and they also stick to the fish's gills. I prefer to use filter wool (filter floss) in the filter if there are bits in the water.

Treatments depend on what's wrong with the fish.
Intestinal worms? Use a worming medication.
Ich/whitespot? Heat rather than medication, and go to medication only if heat doesn't work.
Other conditions? Water changes, then if necessary, salt.

@Essjay is bang on here. As one of our member's signature block says, fish live in clean water. And clean water means no chemicals unless they are absolutely necessary..

ok i currently keep salt stocked in my fish stand, i have 'rapid cure', and ick guard.
I use filter floss. I tried the clarifier to the cloudy tank and noticed no difference so that wont be used again.
