Hi,

After I do waterchangs or when the fish splash about and water dribbles down the front of the glass, it leaves streaky dribbley residue on the front of the tank. Whats the best way to clean this off to 'reveal a streak free shine' :p ;)?

I have tried TFT cleaning wipes which clean it off pertty well but leave lots of little streaks...

Whats the best stuff to use?

Thanks.

i use "windowlene" brings the glass up to an amazing finish!! obvioulsy do not get this anywhere near the inside of the tank!!

yep windo cleaner and a soft cloth.....

Just sprey it onto the cloth first and theres no chance iof it getting into the tank

still use my mothers trick water viniger and newspaper. works a treat. keep the viniger mix off the silicone

After a water change I usually have a towel knocking around to dry my hands & arm and I just use the towel to give the glass a good polish.

So long as the cloth's clean and you use a bit of elbow grease I find it gets the glass sparkling without any polishes. Even gets the kids sticky finger marks off - but that only lasts a very short while before the 2 yr old goes "Oh dad look - the shrips fighting with the cory for the food !" and touches the glass as he points !

i use car screen wash seen it on one of those cleaning freak programmes
the woman was obsessed but swore by car screen wash on her fish tank
if its good enough for her its good enough for anybody
dilute it in some water then use a spray bottle

I use two microfibre cloths.
Make one damp to clean with and use the dry one to bring the glass to a finish. Only use water on the cloths never any cleaning agents. Oh the longer you leave the glass after you use the damp cloth the more elbow grease rquired to shine it up. :good:

I also use a micro fibre cloth and although the tank is new it brings the glass up gleeming :) Have four in the kitchen for glasses, my hob and stainless steel things and now one just for the tank :)

I am a part time window cleaner and use the same technique for my 4 ft aquarium as everyones windows. Cold water with fairy washing up liquid. Wipe all over glass with any kind of applicator (sponge will prob do) and use a rubber squeegy to get it all off. Towel off round the edges or window cleaning scrim if you have any.
