Cleaner Shrimp Problem

My tank has cycled. My Nitrate is at 20 ppm, Nitrite 0, PH 8.2, and Ammonia 0. The guy at the fish store said that the Nitrate was too low to kill him. I am going today to get another.

also never put water from the fish shop in your tank

many shops have copper in their water

Well, you only shouldnt put their water in your tank if its a fish only display. If they had copper in their invert tanks, im pretty sure that they would have a tank full of shells.

This also applies to cases where the fish/etc. is shipped and different chemicals are added to the water for shipping.

All the shrimps I have had have are doing fine. All I have done is emptied them into one of the missus's cooking bowls, added a cup full of wate every 5mins then once 30mins is up they are netted out of the bowl and into the tank. Job done and everyones happy.... well, apart from the missus

The drip acclimation just ensures the minimum amount of stress and the highest survival rate...I still have inverts from my very first tank that I just floated them in the tank for 15 minutes because I didnt know any better...

i used the shot glass approach, but i will try that drip approach sounds good and fairly simple even i could be able to master it..., il use it when i set up my new tank querentine tank and breeder.

the shrimp survived my acclimitisation but unfortunetly the puffer had other ideas ... even evicted the puffer for a while to let the shrimp settle, goes to show im not gonna try introducing shrimps after puffers again!
