Cleaner Required For Discus Tank

Thanks Inchworm,

That would be a site to see. I'll make them a small cave and see if they try and cram into it.

I've been feeding them Hikari sinking wafers (the ones with a picture of a cory on the packet) but have noticed the Discus (Hogs that they can be) :) getting to them first. I overcame this problem with my ancistrus by feeding algae wafers late in the evenings once the discus had settled. Will the cory's feed at night? There seems to be enough food left over after the discus have spat everything out 2 or 3 times so hopefully they won't go without.

Joe2.

I have the same problem with my fish eating the sinking wafers before the corys can, I aleviated the problem by feeding the corys right after I turned out the aquarium lights. Yes, they will feed at night. They have a very good sense of smell and their barbels are really good at finding the food. For fun I bury frozen bloodworm in the sand and the corys find the food in a matter of seconds that is how well they can find food without seeing it.

Well I keep ghost shrimp, different types of corries, clown loach and bristlenose with my two and neither the discus or the angels have ever eaten the ghost shrimp although there plenty of hiding places.

Hi joe2 :)

I had the same problem with gouramis eating their algae wafers. It seems that a lot of different fish like them. Be sure that you feed your corys a good amount of meaty food like live blackworms or frozen bloodworms too. That is an important part of their diet. :D
