Cigar Shark

iv just bought a cigar shark and i was told that it would only grow to 12inches and is a very peaceful fish iv tried looking up on this and cant really seem to find anything..i have a 4ft wide by 3ft tall by 2ft depth tank and i was wondering if anybody could tell me if this is true and it does only grow to 12" im a bit scared of the little i have read about it many thanks

thanks thats what i was looking at and i was like eeeeeep i dont know what to do wether to take him back or wait and see if he grows it seems really friendly wont leave my firemouths side

I had 5 of these,i was also told that they only grow to around 6 or 7 inches..............three of them were over 10 inches within 4 months of having them and they were around 2 inches when i bought them,mine are now living happily in a public aquarium as they were eating everything in my tank,they were even managing to eat fully grown buenes aires tetras whole my advice would be to take it back ASAP.


In my opinion these fish should not be available to but fron the LFS,very few home aquariums are big enough.

hmmmm im not sure then my fish looks like a mad barb but hes only about 5 inches and they had it in the petshop for 6months any ideas how fast they grow

That made me laugh on the link it says minimum tank size: 10ft x 6ft x 4ft

Thats not a tank, thats a swimming pool
