Perhaps peacful Cichlids, such as Kribensis', German Blue Rams, Bolivian Rams; but that's just me. Some prefer the aggressive ones, like Jack Dempseys. I use to have two baby Jack Dempseys, but I never knew at first they were gonna one day start to kill off all my other Cichlids, like my Electric Blue Ahli and Tiger Oscars.

There are many different types of cichlids to choose from, and all have their pros and cons. There are New World cichlids from Central and South America; and African cichlids from Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganikya, Lake Victoria, Madagascar, and West African riverine species.

The size of your tank will also be a deciding factor in which species you can get. Here are some links to help you out.
