just got back from an lfs with 2 new additions for the ornatum tank.....

1 x firemouth and 1 x rainbow cichlid

so the stocking now is -

6 x ornatum cichlids
2 x rainbow cichlids
15 x colombian tetras
1 x firemouth cichlid
1 x megaladoras catfish

to finish it off ill be adding 3 x pictus catfish

heres a poor pic of the little male firemouth taken on my phone... hes gonna be a stunner as ive never seen a juvi firemouth with such intense coloration before. lets hope he behaves

The behaviour is the problem... They seem to start fights between other fish if that makes sense. At least the Ornatums should be able sort him out should the need arise. (Which i'm sure it will! )

im sure they will be more than a match for him.

ive been looking for some elliotis but cant find any decent sized ones about and after seeing the colouration on this firemouth i had to have him.....

my new powerpack arrived today direct from Arcadia. i cant fault their customer relations, top notch

so i now have working lights again

i can now see my fish again.....

ill get some pics if the camera will work, its never been the same since my daughter dropped it

The Firemouth is absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!! Bet you're well chuffed mate. I would say it's definately a male.

Ornatums are colouring up fast i see, very spangly indeed!

yeah the firemouth is defo a male and his red belly is the brightest ive ever seen on a firemouth. wasnt the cheapest but from good stock so hopefully worth it....

the biggest and most colourfull ornatum didnt want its pic taken so i had to make do with a small and medium sized ones to show you, typical.

and yes there are fish in the tank

even the rainbow has coloured up well since adding the other one

So what rainbows have you got in there now? 2 males and 1 female? How much was the fm then? Similar coloured ones at wharf were £12 each iirc.

I have the male from the pair and one I was given free from an lfs that has been in with Africans in the sump for ages......

As I paid £a bit for the firemouth I got a free rainbow.....

They do look after me sometimes which is nice!
