Most shops just eat them.

shops or customers?? ;)

id like to know who carries out the water changes etc,as they dont open till 5,and they never in there before then, tho maybe they just have no idea on keeping them.
its arrogance, till i started keeping fish a goldfish was just a goldfish, not to be worried about, feel a whole lot diffrent now tho, i love my fish to bits

all the ones around my way do.

one has a juwel triangle thing with about 7, 7-8 inch koi 3 corrys. a 12 inch plec, had the standard juwel filter!. they recently bought a new fluval 304 to help.

oh they have a heater for the tropical fish

Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh Will not name. Has a 3ftx1x1 in their shop and it has 2 large parrots 2 large clown loaches, 1 large gibby. 1 large arrowana, and 1 other large fish (not sure what kind). there is no water for fish.

Felt sorry for them as they were barley able to move.

A chinese restraunt we used to go to had a 50gallon tank that never had the same goldfish in it every time we went (which was very often).
There were times when we went to this place weekly, and every single week, there would be different fish. The tank was never overstocked to where the fish couldn't move, but obviously they weren't taking care of their fish properly.

local chinese takeaway doesnt have a fish tank but the fish and chip shop does!! how cruel is that for the fish watching others get battered!!! :-(

Which one are you talking about? I can think of a few in Edinburgh that are like this and it's not on.
There's the one in Ocean Terminal... there's one up in Newington... the list goes on. :(

I've only ever seen a tank in 1 chinese restaurant and that was in my hometown Liverpool, the tank was probably about 4ft x 2ft x 2ft and was stocked with about 8 koi, no idea what filtration or anything they had as I didn't pay attention to that sort of thing back then, the water always looked very clean though. My brother was a right meany, when I was a kid he used to tell me that they ate the koi, that people would go in and pick out which fish they wanted they would then grab it out the tank and chuck it in boiling water, always used to make me sad, I hated that restaurant because of what he told me

Hope they don't use the fish for meals.

There's this hairdressers that my dad's been going to for yrs, they've got a tank & always having new fish. I got my old man to ask about the tank & basically a firm comes in & cleans the tanks on a regular basis & also changes the fish round from time to time also.

I assume thats wat most take aways do also.
