Cheaper Liquid Carbon Source!

they all contain gluteraldehyde. One side effect that was discovered after creation by many users was the alge killing abilities of gluteraldehyde so yes it has the same algae killing abilities :)

AC
It also has human killing abilities so a warning to anyone using it to be careful.

Thanks for the replies peeps. The 1 litre bottle works out cheaper than the first calcs too.

How does this kill human abilities?

Oh fab, maybe this will be cheaper on my 400L

Now can they make a TPN+ too?

a mix of dry ferts and DI/RO water and a few drops of HCL to stop the chelated traces braking down

See I only speak english, gobbledygook plant geek means nothing to me

This is why I buy it ready made, as Im too simple to make my own :D

its not that hard ;)

48g Potassium Nitrate
2.2g Potassium Phosphate (monobasic)
17g Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate (Epsom Salts)
5g Aqua Essentials Trace Elements Mix
0.5g E300 Ascorbic Acid
0.2g E202 Potassium Sorbate

Add to 500ml distilled water and dose as you would with TPN+ (5ml per 100l daily)

Seriously, anyone can do it.

Can anyone confirm the dosages of the AE carbon liquid for me?

On their website the magnified version of the printed label seems to say:

1ml for 50L
2ml for 50L on aquariums with high plant mass
DO NOT OVERDOSE

Yet in their own write up next to the picture is says:

Dosage is simple. We recommend daily addition - 5ml per 50L of aquarium water. This dosage can be increased but do it slowly as it can have a negative effect on plants/fish if you overdose.

So which is correct?
The 2ml per 50L that you must not overdose
or
The 5ml per 50L that you can increase, but slowly? (This is already 2.5x the dose written on the bottle?!)

Not picking holes or anything, and really glad to see AE doing another product at a sensible price, just want to make sure I know the correct dosing :)

That g next to the numbers is that grams?? Where do I get the stuff from to make it up? And how do I measure it out? And and and......

lol,
g=grams

KNO3, KH2PO4, CSM+B, MgSO4

DI water - Halfords car section

scales, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/brand-new-digital-po...%3A1|240%3A1318

measure all powders using the scales, then add them into 500ml of DI water. Can you do that!? If you want a larger batch, then double the numbers (eg. 96g to 1000ml of DI water)

I'll provide a key for you too lol

KNO3 - potassium nitrate
KH2PO4 - potassium phosphate
CSM+B - Trace elements
MgSO4 - Magnesium Suplphate

DI - DeIonised water

The site instructions are correct (5ml per 50l), it is a new batch so that is why the picture is incorrect.

Also note that the solution is slightly weaker than the first batch, however, it is still 20% more poweful than seachem excel.
