you have 5 gf in a 10 gallon, thats your problem. gf when in small tanks feel trapped and will attack each other.
you may be also witnessing mating behaviour, but either way you need a bigger tank soon.

The zebra danios are chasing each other. The koi and goldfish are only in a tank because the pond isnt done yet. And the bettas are going in a one gallon each soon.

I think its the danios. They are in too small a tank, they need a 20. They are very active fish.

I dont have the money for a 20 gallon right now. Should I take the danios back and get guppies?

TBH, guppies are pretty over rated. They don't last very long as they are so inbred. Do a search, there are a lot of topics with stocking suggestions for a 10g.

Your cycling it? Go fishless. Its far easier. Read the pinned topics, then once its cycled you can stock with whatever you want (as long as its sensible).

I know the fishless cycle is easier but I want to use fish. So do you know any other fish besides zebra danios and guppies that will work?

How soon are the goldfish and koi going into the pond? Hopefully soon, because IMO that 10g is about as overstocked as I've ever seen, even if the fish are all small-- no offense meant. Maybe you're stuck with this situation...?

Out of curiosity, why do you prefer cycling with fish?

In the meantime, if you're determined to pursue this course of action, the easiest thing to do would be rehome the danios, put the filter that you'd like to mature on the 10g goldfish/koi/pleco tank and leave it running for a week or two.

Then, buy whatever fish you'd like for the 10g and at the same time move the filter from the goldfish tank to the new tank.

This plan would have the added benefit of increasing the filtration for the goldfish/koi/pleco.

What fish are you planning to stock in the 10g? HTH~

The pond is going to be done in a few days a week at most.I want to cycle with fish because its cool to watch them instead of watching an empty tank for 3 weeks. I wanted to put platies and or guppies in it. Maybe mollies or swordtails. But im definitly goin to put a pleco in.

Its cool to watch them'. What, watch them die and suffer? Because that's whats going to happen. Also, there aren't any plecs small enough for that tank. Please, do fishless. Its completely unnessecary to put fish through the stress just for your pleasure for a few weeks.

The plecos at petsmart are only about 1 inch long. I used fishes to cycle my molly tank and that was the happiest tank I ever had. Im going to return the danios to the petstore and get guppies.
