Channa-ornatipinnis Have Laid Eggs..drawf Snakeheads

Im not sure people realise how huge an achievement this is, congrats and fingers crossed you have more successfull spawnings in the future. To get these spawning so soon after the first imports into the UK is great news for a captive bred selection of these fish and also so that what has happened to the Galaxy Rasbora doesnt happen with these stunning preds :)

Thanks yes there cute, as you can see well worth a species tank :good:

i'm not allowed anymore tanks - i've squeezed a little rena 30 in to breed my minnows and neons in but thats it lol
hubby would kick me out ----- hold on if i kick him out i can have another tank ;)

Thank's mate, i do feel chuffed, like a cat that got the cream.......Well atleast now these guy's have had some good press recently :hyper:
As long as these guy's are kept in the correct condition's you can enjoy them in a specie's tank and it is just as good if not better than a community :good:

Just want to add my congratulations Nelly, they are some beautiful snakeheads. If they start becoming common in my LFS I know who to thank

Well I'm moving soon and getting a new 4ft x 18" tank to put my new world cichlids into, which means, I will have a 75gal and a 45gal Trigon to fill. I was thinking senegal bichir in one of them, but maybe an ornatipinnis would be the way forward. Hmmmm.

 :hey: look into my eyes

10pounds each for pick up from my place or local delivery at a small cost.......

20pounds each by post nexy day delivery before midday<make sure you home>

special deal 5 for 60pounds......10each and one lot of postage, Then you get a pair and sell the rest, adults usually sell at alot higher prices, wildwoods sell round 100pounds,,,usally round 50-60pounds and one person on ebay is asking 130.00pounds for one adult

So if i were to kick hubby out - what is the minimum tank size you'd recommend for these nelly

thanks Sarah x

Wow Nelly, those are amazingly beautiful fish and your tank looks great. Congrats on your achievement and all of those beebee's!

3ft is good for say a pair but obviously thats the difficult part.mine are in a 32inch/14/20high...so unless you want a pair one is best bet......obviously you will have to have a speices tank but trust me these guy's are worth it.......filteration, no heater, temp around 18c-23c
lots of rocks/bogwood/plants which seriously does not make these fish hide just makes them more comfortable.....floating plants and duckweed an advantage aswell......
Waterchanges are not highly reccomeded but make sure ammonia and nitrites are ok.....I have not changed water since 1st december and will the fry aswell ammonia and nitrites are spot on............

10 pounds is a realy good price. just think if 20 babies survive you will make atleast 200 haha thats crazy. any more updates or pics

people will be all over them haha. i would be tempted to get a pair but just havent got the accomodation for them haha. the babies have grew very fast. how is your second batch doing

I'm going to set up my mum an aquarium for her makeup studio... how much for one of the little buggers? They're so cute, congrats!
