I'm afraid Channa ornatipinnis would grow too big for a 25 gallon tank. There are however smaller snakehead species that would fit nicely in such a tank eg. Channa Bleheri, Channa orientalis, Channa gachua (might get too big), Channa sp. assam (not sure on this ones correct scientific name) might also take your interest.

im nto bothered what species i love em all i want something different than cichlids but still have a bad ass attitude do you have any info on where to buy them ??? i cant find em anywhere that isnt ridiculously priced

Wildwoods sometimes has some in (has assam at £29.99 currently and gaucha at £19.99). Trimar might be another option.
I don't know any LFS in Manchester but B.A.S might be a worth a look at.

OMG, first of all, upmost congratulations! Be sure to take note of how the tank is now, all the details to help others! I think they are cute! I love the way they have huge heads going into a small body! lol. I would keep snakeheads if they were in anyway available to me :(
Hope they hatch!!
Good luck!

your in blackpool?as in uk?
Why can you not find any?as check the link above you should find something, also as said try wildwoods or tri-mar :good: they all deliver or maybe local to you

Yeah blackpool uk. I just havnt seen any and dont like the idea of getting them online
I wouldnt have the slihgtest clue about looking after them anyway :p
BTW, in my opinion, for the first spawn, leave it to the fish. The last thing you want to do is scare them out of it completley, i think it might be better to loose one batch of fry, to secure the futures if the others. Plus, you will have an experience to work upon come the next spawn :)

yes thats my plan let em get on with it, as said i recording the details to what he and she does from what i watch, Water straight from the tap temp 20-21c at present so its risen from 18-19c, I have not done a waterchange since november the 30th 2008..........As a good source told me snakeheads are not keen on constant waterchanges which is what iam used to doing....
this was what one looked like back then when i first got them
