Hello all,

Well its well past my bed time and I thought I would check on the tank. Everybody is fine except Hachi. Hachi looks like a pale version of his color scheme on his body. Right under his pec fins he was white.. as in ghost white. I was like uhh what the hell. I wanted to get a picture of this so I showed him the mirror to get him to flare and as I was taking pictures he was back to his normal color. Not one picture showed him any different then when I got him. Has anybody seen this before?

Should I be worried?

Jason

I got a very unhappy betta from a shop, he was almost white when i got him and now his true colours are showing, hes dark purple! I think its down to stress.

:) That's perfectly normal. I don't think they really "sleep" as such, but when they are in a deep rest they can and often do loose color. It can really be scary at first when you see them. One of my guys will lay on the bottom of his tank, motinless and colorless for several minutes after I turn the light on in the morning. Then he "wakes up," his color comes back and he swims to the top of the tank for his breakfast. :fun:

Yep. Eudie's right.

Most of my guys' faces under their eyeballs turn white right after I turn their light on, and they swim around sort of disoriented. They color up after a while. Perfectly normal.

Yeah, my pretty white/pink betta is turning blue and purple.
So far only his fins, but will the rest of him change?
