Change And Rewind

well i guess the mbuna stock is out of the window, because you'll need to redo the decorations inside...
and it is possible to house mbuna in a 3ft tank, i know someone who has a mbuna fishroom/s *his double garage* and he has all sizes of tanks, some in little fish store tanks, some in 3ft tanks and real big cichlids in liek a 8ft tank.

you just wont be allowed as many, and only of one kind.

if you are still going for mbuna, firstly change your substrate to sand secondly get loads of rock and stack them safely, check for rocks that wont raise your pH etc... and then thirdly if your looking for nice coloured mbuna look into yellow labs very bright :)

but if your not getting mbuna why not a angel fish tank...

are you looking for big fish or small fish?

Im still not sure bt at least Im doing some useful research along the way.i like angels so possibly

Thats odd seeing as you want your ph over 8 so rocks that raise your ph is a good thing???

one of the reasons i thought of mbna originally because my tap water reads ph 8.but yes i Read rocks that encourage the ph to stay high or raise it a little are best for mbuna. Is this wrong then?

yes if they needed the ph taking down whateverfish I got.although to be honest Id rather fit the fish to the water conditions if you know what i mean.

mark i didnt know how hard her water was... so thats why i said about the rocks that raise pH etc...

but if your deciding mbuna, stop everything in the tank put in sand and then start stacking your rocks...
erm there's a few mbuna tank pics on here but not many...

There is loads of mbuna tank pics on here in the african section. You dont need sand for a mbuna tank people just choose to have it. And it doesnt matter what her ph out of the tap is if its 8 or 6 she can still put in rocks that raise the ph.
