I wouldn't put the ottos in yet since they are even more sensitive and that would add even more to the bioload. Just keep up with the water changes. Good luck

Here's some pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, the tanks still cycling now, but it shouldnt be long..

the carpet is starting to fill out, maybe another month and it will be pucka. and another plus is i have added the wood, its not great, im not entirely happy with it because its too small, if i would have known it was that small i wouldnt have brought it, but heyho, i have it now... update in a min

so the cycle is expected to finish within the next week hopefully, i am swapping media all over the place, doing 30% daily water changes, and hoping that its done soon so i can get some shrimp to deal with a bit of algae control, the nitrite is at 0.5ppm now, nearly 0.25, so its looking up. fingers crossed it will finish soon

Awww..... so cute I really like your little puff's pattern.

The scape is coming along nicely I think when the mosses grow and fill out a bit more, the wood won't look so small. What mosses have you got in there?

thanks isnail , i love him to bits, its halarious teesing him with bloodworm, he was following me round the tank the other day when i was feeding him.

its flame moss, should start to grow up in the next couple of weeks, and then i plan to get a stem plant for the back, maybe rotala sp green, just having trouble getting some atm

Looks good, i plan to use the same tank (from seapets) as a betta/shrimp tank.

yes!! the tank has finally cycled, lol, it was never not cycled, i decided to move the heater, which was infront of the internal, blocking the flow, and it has worked! 0 nitrite!!!!!

but there is some bad news too, i have been having problems with algae, and so will be re-scaping the tank, basically starting again! plus while i was at it i thought it would be best to get a new external heater, stand, and heater, so doing it properly this time, most of the equipment out of the tank, should be good, just got to save up for the filter and stand, i have decided on the tetratec ex600, mainly becuase it had good reviews, however its also good becuase it fits the 12mm connectiond on the eth 200w i have brought and then i have decided on a black fluval roma 90 stand(60cm wide), even though the tank will be a bit short for it(10cm each side) im sure it will look ok, plus i am moving it to a different position in the house- my room! out of direct sunlight, part of the problems causing algae

i will post some new pics in a few days, although im a little busy with exams atm
