Carbon Foam

How often should we be replacing the carbon foam in our filters. When we do replace them is it best to only replace say half of it or all??

I would replace all of it........with foam media!

Unless you are trying to remove used medication or water staining (from bog wood etc.) it's not used these days.

Agreed, only use carbon when you actually need it

That aside, if you do use it, carbon works by how much it can absorb rather than how long it lasts.......

That aside, in your average stocked tank, whole lot of carbon pad changed ever 4-6 weeks.

Ow cheers guys so really i have no use for it then. I can put some more foam in comes in handy then setting up a new tank when needed
