Captive Bred Mandarins Soon Available

I have had a mandarine in my tank for 14 months. She did breed with her mate but other inhabitants made short work of the fry. I have subsequently lost him when I had a previously mentioned pH problem. She feeds on vit. enriched brines, flake, shark formula, copepods, bits of stray muscle, squid and anything else that takes her fancy. The only problem she has is she is as wide as she is long. I feel alot of people forget individual variation within species, hence natural selection. I dont condone the mass import of species and do my best to recycle, ebay etc. but if there is an option to breed and grow on the fry then this can only be good for the hobby as surely only the strong and more adaptable will make it to adult hood??

BUMP ;D

Wanted to update...
We got 2 in at my work a few weeks ago. They were adorable! Got a couple pictures on my phone.. so excuse the quality...

Again, very adorable. Apparently you are only allowed to order two a month. They are "jar trained" to eat (which i've seen people do before in their tanks), so basically they are trained to go into a jar to eat their food. They are specifically trained to eat bloodworms and prawn eggs (like nutramar ova).

So, we got a jar and threw it in there with them and put in some food and within minutes those little cuties were both sitting in the jar together! Sold them to a customer about a week later, who took both of them, and he has since updated us that they are still loving the jar and eating very well :)

in my old 7ft tank i had a madarin, it was called a psychedelic mandarin at the time, not sure if it still is...

anyways, i had it in my 7ft for just under 16 months before i had to shut my tank down when i moved out. i rehomed all my fish and equipment :(

but, i have had one since then in a 240 litre reef tank and unfortunately that one only lasted a few months at most :(
i put it down to the size of aquarium and also lack of suitable foods.

id love one of these CB mandys, they are such amazing fish to watch, but like most of you guys i have been put off because of the feeding issues.

how much were they nemo?

They were either $60 or $70 each... I can't recall which. Little pricey, but i'm sure it will go down once they get a steady stream of them being raised.
