I have a male betta who dosnt want to get healthy. I’ve done salt, Pimafix, ick cure blue, daily water changes. Took out everything from the aquarium and nothing works. What do you guys suggest. And what is it exactly?

I should. I just do so many water changes I feel like the numbers would be good. and before all this it would go about 2 weeks before the Nitrates were an issue but then it was stocked with more fish. Where he is has basically been my hospital tank for like a month.

He has diamond eye. It's an uncurable condition where the scales grow over the betta's eyes.

Diamond eye is most common in dragon scale bettas. It causes the betta to be blind, but many fish with the condition live long lives. Measures should be taken such as not changing his decor and feeding in the same spot with a signal to let him know it is feeding time. Other than that as long as he is eating and swimming fine he looks healthy to me.

Do you think it’s still possible to breed?
NO. And even if he could breed, you don't want to pass this defective gene onto his young. The breeders in Asia who are mass producing these fish need to be stopped because it is cruel and inhumane to deliberately breed an animal so it goes blind simply because some of them think it looks good.

Yeah I was curious. I read some people like it due to it being very rare. I don’t know how to feel about it. Also I imagine it being hard to see the mate when that’s a big part of how they breed. Seeing each other before things happen.

It's not that rare anymore. We have people on here every couple of weeks with the same problem. Male Betta going blind due to something growing over its eyes.
