I've attached a pic of one of my rams. I have been having a number of deaths in my tank and I'm wondering if this is something to do with it.
If you look closely you can see a small white object below the skin of the fish about 3/4 the way back along the dorsal fin and just below it. There is a much larger object near it's head, but on the opposite side to that shown. It is just visible as a whitish lump in front of the dark stripe through its eye. The photos don't show it up too well. In reality it's very clear. My other ram also has small off white objects appearing below the scales. Both fish are off colour and don't behave like healthy fish at all. There's no fighting and they just wander about with no real go to them.
I think they are tumours of some sort (chemical poisoning of some sort?) although they could be parasites of some kind. Does anyone recognise these?

Here's another photo showing the object near the head. It's the slightly curved white area above the eye that runs through the black stripe. From what I can tell it's cylindrical.

Any guesses?

That's exactly what's been happening to my female bettas. I hope someone can solve your mystery because it would solve mine too.

Somone suggested hole in the head but I'm not sure.

but if it was HITH it wouldnt be on his back so who knoes it could be a disease or it could be temporary, how many water changes do u do per week?

HITH occurs in the sensory regions of the fishes body, ie. head and lateral line (therefore can be anywhere from the head all the way down the body). Another symptom of HITH is light & stringy poo.

The only other thing i can think of is Fish Lice (Argulus) which appear as transparent discs lying flat on the skin. If the fish have these they will rub and scratch as if they had Ich.

Perhaps a mod can forward this post to the Tropical Fish Emergencies forum for you. I have no idea what is woring wit your fish, but perhaps in the emergencies forum someone can help you & your fish. Good luck, whatever the problem may be!
