Can you imagine if a community of loyal, dedicated, intellectual, fish-loving people opened a chain of fish stores all under the same name, with the same values, yet each unique from the rest...and all others for that matter.

Can you imagine if ALL of the members in this forum got together and started a chain of fish stores where only top quality, healthy fish were sold, and for reasonable prices. Where people in all of the scattered towns and concentrated metropolis' could buy fish and put the trust in knowning that the place where they purchased their fish is genuine, and cares more about the well-being of the fish then the actual sale. PETsMart and WalMart would not be able to sell fish products, for people would simply travel to thier nearest FishForum.Net members fish store for thier suuplies, livestock, friendly and accurate service and for the relaistic prices to keep their passion for fish keeping bearable finacially.

There would be tons of them, sprouted up all over Canada, the UK and the States, along with Austrailia and other places in Europe. These stores would not concentrate on kicking out smaller business, but joining with them to give the public a better selection and better service.

Just a thought I had...Don't mind if no one reads it...It was enough of a pleasure to write and think about...

now thats food for thought, and a very thought out plan. It is also very true, some of the information i have gotten from these forums has been accurate helpful and there are alot of people on here who really care for there fishies i know i do!!

I find everytime I go to my LFS, that has undergravel filters . That even if I wanted a fish they have either ICH or some other diease. It is really depressing.

On the otherhand there is a great store a little further off called fibreaquaria which sells the largest variety of fish, native Australian, Marine fish, starfish, freshwater. coldwater. Sea horses Sting rays. they use powerful filters. have there own display tanks with live annenomies and all sorts, tanks for sale, filters backings, don't forget useful advice, all up an amazing store. I don't think its a chain though. So it seems that the local stores take the best care of fish. And I agree that it would be great if more stores where like this one

Ah, what a great thing reviving a good thread like that.

Haven't seen these stores open up yet but if they do, I'm covering the magherafelt area of northern Ireland. Will have no customers but who needs them? I'll keep them all for myself.

What a great thread. I'll help someone run a store in south east England . Not got enough experience to run on my own, however with this forum it's an endless supply of knowledge and very grateful of all the experienced hobbyist taking time out of their day to help us newbies!

It's an amazing forum and once I've made a few friends, wouldn't it be great to organise a day at the pub.
