Can you identify this betta?

no, it has positively been identified it is not a betta but a relative.

Yes, "Spike Tail Paradise Fish," P. dayi. Great fish! :) I have seen
them in several shops around Portland lately and they are very reasonably
priced. Relatively easy to breed, too, tho a bit of a trick to sex... at
least for me.

I just googled paradise fish like you said and also am certain they are Day's Paradise fish or like you said "Spike Tail Paradise Fish".

Ok so not a betta at all...I've never heard of this kind of fish. I got a lot of reading to do :p

Thanks slamster!!! ;) Oh and thanks to the whoever figured it out on the other board :D

it is a paradise fish, the dorsal fin proves it.
also i have seen other paradise fish at lps' and they have the same body shape, good like with them!

Its a betta enisae, check out my previous post on page one ok :) ?
I thought so at first but the coloring is different and the fins are very different. Here take a look at this page you'll see when you scroll down "bubble-nest builders" and there is a picture of the Day's paradise fish and that's exactly what I've got. :)

Tokis-Phoenix- it is not a betta enisae, look for yourself, enisae get huge these are small look at the enisae's dorsal fin and look at how small it is compared to that of elisabeth's fish

I'm wondering what kind of tank mates I can get or if it's best to just have the 4 by themselves? I was thinking of getting some croaking "sparkling" gouramis??

I'm a bit worried to that I've got 4 of them...I've just read they should be kept in pairs of singly??

They are Very Cool.

i thoght it looked like a enisae as well, but after looking at the 2 pics, i can see that her fish and the enisae do ahve differant kind of fins. it could be a paradise fish but it seems to resemble a betta more than a gouramii -_-
