A hundred years ago when budgies where new to this country and rare the victorians used mirrors in order to get them to breed
the more budgies your birds think there are the more secure they will feel
I remember you saying your hatch rate was low so feed adult pairs lots of veg and cuttlefish (the calcium is needed for the egg shells) and make sure perches do not wobble as this can lead to infertile clutches as the male has not been able to balance well (if you get my drift lol)
what colour babys do you want I will be able to advise what colour parents you need
misscosmo Im glad to help as you can see lets put our dissagreement behind us hey ??? what do you think?
your posts are much clearer now and that was what my only concern
Ok disagreement behind.
I haven't really thought about what colour form of baby i would like.
Don't worry perches won't be wobbly and there will be quite a few mirrors.
I only mentioned the perches as I used to keep my birds in an avairy and thus used branches and twigs for them to sit on which moved when 30 budgies sat at one end lol
natural branches are good perches as they are different thicknesses this excersises the birds feet and keeps the supple
I know about the branches because, even though these were a different species my auntie had 2 love-birds which she was breeding and when she got them out she had a variety of branches all different and she used to tame them to fly to the certain branches to exercise their wings and feet.
Awwwww they are cute.
Yeah my auntie bred love-bids(normal colour) and got an albino baby from them! She kept the albino but when it came to moving house she had to sell pip and squeak(adults) but kept frosty(albino)
oh my green budgies used to be the most common my best pair out of 20 where green they had yellows, greys, and whites as chicks in australia where they come from the wild ones are all green
