Can We Have A Coral Of The Week Sub-section

No it should be a sub section forum (aka new forum) because yes of course it would get cluttered on top of a regular forum.

Shouldn't really go in the index either because to be honest there would end up being more than 1 thread for each species.

IMO before we go creating new forums, some need to be deleted that arent used, all of the hobby forums could be deleted and then we could have one forum for hobbys...more traffic = better replys

As there is already an invert and fish sub section could they be pinned to the relevant section then..ie, coral/week in inverts and fish/week in fish section??

those sections are rarely trafficked IME, so maybe the most popular marine section would mean more members get to see it?

I would prefer to see a couple of sub forums that contain a list of all the old new and fish and corals of the week so they can be kept for reference. If they are just kept in a pinned topic I think everything will just get jumbled up to be honest.

Maybe a sub forum in the marine fish forum and a sub forum in the marine corals forum so it turns out a bit like the profiles at the top of the board.

Sounds a lot like you guys want something like what SteelHealr used to do with his "Topic of the Week" thread. Basically a pin in the section every week for the coral of the week. Then, the week later the old topic would be un-pinned, and archived in a different thread. Probably easily done with a direct link. A pin would offer faster access than a subforum and would probably see more traffic than a subforum. So I'll go ahead and start a pin in the inverts section with appropriate links and see how we go here. I'll also start an oppinion thread in the same forum so we can discuss this there in a more-visible setting.
