I just bought a plastic plant for my tank but when I got it home I realise that the packet has got lizards all over it. The wording on the back reads: “The plants can be used in conjunction with real plants in dry or hot areas of the terrarium.” The brand name is Exo-Terra Jungle Plant and the plant name is Ruscus in silk.

Can I use this for my tank or should I exchange it and read labels properly in future??

Does it say anything about fish on it?
If not I would take it back just to be sure.

Agree with AT, hard to believe these would not just be the same plastic/silk plants sold to the aquarium market. WD

Exo-Terra plnats are fine in the water i have many Exo-Terra products from breeding my dart frogs

I have some Exo Terra plastic plants in one of my tanks.
They have been in there for 6 months or so and no ill effects.

+1

I bought Exo Terra plants because they were the only ones I could find with suckers on so that they can be placed at the surface of the water. They have been in my aquarium for five months. They are just plastic plants like any other - they are fine.

Thanks guys. I've put the plant in now and it looks great. Didn't realise it had suckers on it until I put it in the tank. Would be good if all plastics plants had them. That way you wouldn't have to rearrange everything when doing a gravel vac etc
