Can I Use New Hose

hi i have a v2 400 skimmer and it comes with a short plasticy hose but it needs to be longer so can i use the rubbery hose for pond filters if its new as ivve been told that with the salt water it will degrade really quick and affect the water qaulity is this true or can i use it?

i used the 16/22mm green flexi pipe that loads of people use for returns

You should be able to get normal filter pipe that thick PVC ribbed pond hose will be fine, can't say about rubber ones though...

I thought you meant the inlet hose.
