My Riccordea is about my most improved coral it really swells and spreads every night. Trouble is the two heads inthe light have expanded loads yet the two as the back don;t. One looks like its forming two heads as well

How can I seperate them andhow wouldit stick somewhere else

Just looking at it now its one of my favourites such a handsome coral

I "think" (and please double check first because im not sure) that you just frag them the same as you would mushrooms. Take a razor blade and cut them off the rock (as close to the rock as possible). Then if you want to frag it into several cut through the disc and make sure each part gets a bit of the mouth. Now get a small container of rock rubble and put it in you tank (in not to high flow). Now put the ric frags in the container and cover with netting to stop them blowing away.

Now give it a couple of weeks and the frags should attached to bits of LR which you can then place where ever you want in your tank.

Apparently though some rics don't take to well to fragging so don't expect 100% success rate.

cheers for that Barney

I think I;ll give it a crack as I have nothing to lose. If it succeeds I have a lovely new Riccordea to display and if it goes wll I DON;T SE IT ANYWHERE COS OF WHERE ITS SITUATED :good:

If you can get the rock out of the tank a better way would be to use a sharp chisel and try to chisel them off with a bit of rock included. Let us know how it goes.
