Hi there, I'm toying with the idea of adding some more fish to my most recently set up tank. The tank has been set up for 3 months and was cycled using some donor mature media from one of my other tanks.

Tank is a 4ft rena prism (260 litres) filtered by a eheim ecco 2236 (up to 300l) external filter. No live plants and good aeration.

Current stocking is

6 silver dollars (4 are 4-5 inches, 2 are around about 2.5inches)
1 Sailfin pleco 7 inches
3 albino corries
4 pure strain endler guppies (male)
2 long fin zebra danios
3 glowlight tetras
2 pengiun tetras

I realise these are an odd selection of fish but they were 'rescued' from a relative hence the odd quantites for the schooling fish.

So can I add more fish

Any suggestions on what I should add?

You can certainly get more fish in by my rough maths in my head. I'd concentrate on getting your schools up though as to protect the fish you have and let them feel a bit safer. Then see where you are then would be my advice :good:

Thanks, I'll be adding more tetras this weekend to bring the schools up to reasonable levels.

ok, so lets assume you bring all the schools up to a sensible number, you'd then have the following

6 silver dollars (4 are 4-5 inches, 2 are around about 2.5inches) - 36"
1 Sailfin pleco 7 inches - 10"
6 albino corries - 12"
4 pure strain endler guppies (male) - 4"
6 long fin zebra danios - 6"
6 glowlight tetras - 6"
6 pengiun tetras - 12"

so that's 86" of fish, tanks 70 gallons

I'd say that's about fully stocked as it is, certainly don't want to be putting much more in there.
