Auntsally, you dropped off the first bracket "[" when you cut and pasted the IMG code for the picture.

From get go tbh.....they are really not a nice piece of work. Id take him back and get a group of otto's imo. For one of the fish (pregnant guppy) he killed her and sucked the eggs out of her belly...

Trouble is he came with the tank from a private sale! Also two golden loaches in there which I know are trouble. Hope I can persuade LFS to take them or not sure how to humanly get rid of them

Yeah, I once had a CAE. they are really agressive.... it actually killed a 3 inch african cichlid on me and the CAE was smaller. But that being said I have a 10gallon with an otto (look close to the same but stay about 2 inches long and the black line going down the body stops at the tail rather than continuing through it) and it is one of the best fish decisions I've made. That little fish is amazing! as the posts above, I'd suggest ottos as well!

you mentioned that golden loaches are a problem, can you expand on that.... i have four of them so you have put the fear of god in me!

Dont be afraid, your not the one in the tank with them :p...These guys tend to start alright but once they mature and grow they become very aggresive and are know for feeding off the slime coats of other fish :)

Almost impossible for me to expand but I can elaborate. Basically they are really good algae eaters when young and quite a nice addition to a tank. But when they get older they turn into a monster and are very very agressive. There attitude is known to lots of people...

they seem ok now, they are about two inches long, im not entierly sure what they are, they were labelled as golden loaches, but i have two yellow ones and two white ones with orange markings on like a goldfish, should i take them back or keep them a while, they are in a 40 gallon heavily planted!

oh and ive just remembered something else bad, i have a really big fat flying fox which is a bit miserable and a bully, but he doesnt hurt anyone, hes got like this as he has got older, are these golden loaches going to end up like that because if they are i dont want them, i dont want the fox either.... any takers?

The golden loach is just a colour variant of the Chinese Algae Eater. They become aggressive around the 4" mark, though mine was smaller when it started to become a problem ... for some reason it hates Danios with a passion.

It will probably end up much worse than the Fox ... I say probably because a few people have no problems with theirs.
