Hi

I bought some new corydora tonight....I didnt go to the LFS for any fish...just an airstone...but I came back with 4 of these little cory's...they were listed as 'panda corydora'...but I have searched panda corydora...and they are nothing like them...I am by no means an expert though...anyone know what they are?

Ta in advance
Debbie

hi,

the one at the front looks like Corydoras trilineatus and the ones at the back are sterbai

Emma :)

great fish

Hmm right...I thought the one with the black dorsal fin was a little different to the other 3....they are very nice looking fish...!

That is hilarious, Pandas indeed - I think you should name and shame the shop where you got them from!!!!

Bet it was pets at home, they have some "Wild caught Panda Corydora" atm that are actuallt Corydoras trilineatus.

£4.99 each, is that a decent price?

Sounds high to me for a trilineatus. They usually go for about 4 or 5 dollars around here. At a 2 to 1 ratio on the money exchange that should only be 2 or 3 pounds.

LOL...panda's have black eyes yes? Do mine look like they have black eyes? NOPE.....They have no more black eyes than Ricky Hatton before a big fight... :p :p :p

Got it in one.... [email protected] said are you sure they panda cory? 'Yep they are.'....said the assistant....I said I thought they were meant to have black eyes.... (me pretending I know what I am talking about) she said Hmmmmm...(looking at the tank)...I am not sure...I said well I will take four anyway....£3.99 each.....normally they sell corydora 4 for £10.00.

I since found out 1 is a Corydoras trilineatus and other 3 are sterbai....!

Mind you what can I expect....they sold me a female betta who was male...and peppered cory....and they did not know what they were?

Good old [email protected] reliable and people who know what they are talking about :)

Hmmm....I am now confused...went to planet catfish and saw a pic of Corydoras trilineatus and although similar to my pic...a little different http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?image_id=4825

The searching I found this.... http://www.cichlidforums.com/showthread.php?t=26462

So I do not know...lol....either way...he seems fine with the sterbai...:)
Greetings. The fish is question is without a doubt, C. trilineatus. They are one of the most variable of all species. The fish is not C. julii, which is extremely rare and can only be positively ID'd if the exact point of collection, not city of export is known. With that being said, this fish in no way resembles C. julii. - Frank

What darlin little fishies!

They just really have sweet faces peering out of the bag.

Yeah! Like, " We are gonna love you and give you babies and everything, but, please, you gotta let us outa here first!"

They are nice. I am quite fond of sterbai. They are a hardy little race. And active and colorful too.
