Can A "marine" Classified Be Added?

im wandering if there could be a small marine classified section added?

i was thinking maybe in the Marine section,so its completley seperate from the other classified section.

i no its a tropical fish forum,but a little marine classified would be great

theres no point...we would just be making the forum less efficient by dividing it up...everything comes under a catagory all ready and you can use the search to find what you want...i just dont see the point

i dont agree with that,maybe for looking for something to buy,but not selling gear.

the site is basicly "tropical" isnt it,so if 1 person say advertises a skimmer ( i have 1 for sale ) in that time, maybe 10 or so tropical items maybe listed,this in turn knocks the marine item down.

and we no that bumping alot isnt liked to get it back up.

you can also see by the views of the item that marine gear isnt looked upon in the normal classified.

it wont cause any less hassle,i think it may tisy things up too!!

Probably because there are fewer SW people on here, and out of that minority fewer who want to buy anything?

I must admit I would like a marine section on the classified area. I suspect it would be slow to start but once people realised it was there it would start to grow. It would be nice not having to trawl through tropical stuff to find a couple of marine bits!

We currently have to go elsewhere for sales etc.

Our marine section is growing daily, which is great, now all we need is a port of call for all marine sales etc.

I agree, a marine section would be great. At the moment I never bother looking at the classifieds on this forum unless I'm looking for a generic item (like a tank) and I would never bother trying to sell my marine stuff on here as the people that are likely to want to buy it wont be able to find it amongst all the FW stuff.

Just a Marine classifieds, split into livestock and hardware would be brilliant. Yes it might not get used that much but as seffie said their are a lot more SW people coming on here now and lots of people who are just getting into it so I think it would eventually get quite a bit of use.

Totally agree. I only look at the equipment section if I am searching for a tank.

All other marines items including livestock, I look on other forums.

Could either be in the classified section or as a subsection in Marines.

We are growing daily at the moment. The marine section should grow with us.

have you noticed all the tropical people say its not a good idea and all the marine people say it is?
after all this is a TROPICAL fish forum.
if people want bits, perhaps they should visit a MARINE forum.

Are you suggesting that the Marine section moves lock, stock and smoking barrels to another forum Nick?

The last time I looked this was a forum for all, we are only asking for a sub section so we don't have to trawl through all the tropical stuff - after all, you know us old salties like everything in it's place! As it is we don't use the classified sections on this forum we have to visit another forum!

I think it is an excellent idea, the tropical classifieds are now nicely set up but I would imagine anything marine getting easily lost.

i personally think the new classifieds section is rubbish! its too divided up! and it makes finding multiple items difficult sometimes.

IMO we should have a classifieds for equipment, livestock, supplies and marines

that would cover everything and people will be happy.
