Calm before the Storm

Nice. You can collect a lot of water for your fish tanks and ponds. Lol

A meter of rain! I expect if you are getting that amount of rain the area is prone to high rain falls in general. If not I would be sandbagging the areas around my house.

We are prone to these weather events. Civil defense are moving in and getting ready to protect property near the coast and rivers. We are lucky and sit up on the terrace, so shouldn't flood.

At least you get rain over there, I haven't seen water falling from the sky for months. I think the last time is drizzled here was bout 5 months ago and the last time it rained properly (for more than 5 minutes) was maybe 2020.

This storm has been a bit of an anti climax really. Yes we have had 250mm of rain but that isn't that much for us and it has just rained continously so we haven't even had some decent down pours. I thought we might have had some good thunder storms to put up on this thread but NO not even that, sorry folks maybe next time.

Flippin heck. You guys always do things bigger and better than everyone else
Indeed we do...but this record is one I'll never brag about...it was awful, for many, many people...I was blessed, and lucky, my house is pier-beam, not on a slab...about 3 feet off of the ground...another inch or two, and we would have flooded inside, like so many unfortunate people experienced....many homes a total loss
