Thought I'd just post a photo of Calla, my Umbrella Cockatoo


She makes my life complete and I would die for her without question.
Her name originates from the Greek word 'Kalos' which means 'beautiful'.

If you make a gun shape with your hand, point it at her and say "Calla, stick em' up" she'll open her wings, raise her crest and cock her head to the side, its hilarious

She has her moments

They come from the Moluccass (sp) Islands and Indonsia and that.
There are only a few left in the wild now due to deforestation and importation. They dont reach sexual maturity until they are a few years old so that doesnt help their numbers.
Some people call them 'velcro birds' cause all they want to do is cuddle, and Calla will fall asleep on you for hours if you'd let her. To keep her occupied I just hand her a foot toy or a treat. When you say 'take' she'll lift a foot and you can hand it to her

I am speechless, That bird is beautiful I use to have one in my house for a year and I cried like a baby when the owner took him home. Hoppie was its name he passed away about six months ago. I dont think they are a day that goes by that I dont think about him. And seeing your beautiful bird just makes me want him back even more. He will be in october's contest also.
