C.trilineatus The Daily Photo Update (closed)

Hi Stud

Hope your fly healthy and trying to keep them alive and well, want to see them grow.

Good luck

thanks,

I wanted to document their growth I may put together some sort of webpage documenting it when they are grown.
As when I first had cory eggs amd they hatched I had no idea what to expect and there are limited image on the internet of the fry and their developement.

So hopeuflly this will become of some use to people in the future :D

there is never a reason to say no...

/me looks at all his tanks, trying to find room for some more

Great pics §tudz

Sorry to hear about the loss of fry. I hate loosing babies, but it's probably nothing you've done, nature is like that.

I got 4 Trilineatus yesterday. They were only in the tank a couple of hours and already spawning!! I'm very happy with them, so cute and obviously very happy. It seems we definitely have 2 males and 2 females. Will be looking for some more to widen the gene pool. I managed to collect 6 eggs, the females didn't make it easy laying them under leaves on on the glass with the Botia Striata looking very interested. So I had to remove as soon as I could find them.

My stupid camera bust yesterday, won't focus at all, so no pics.

Keep up the updates, I love watching them grow.

:D

Good luck Kuhni

I had to physically sit and watch where the female rubbed her eggs off, otherwise it's like finding a needle in a haystack!! At least the bronze cories lay a large number and normally on the front of the glass in plain view.

Keep us posted on your search.

:D

Just great, Studz!

I hope to try getting something (other than the bronze, whose fry grw out in the cory tank w/o any assistance--well only 1 or 2 at a time) of mine to give me fry at some. I have some other projects first, but I am getting caught up enough in my move so that I can turn attention to my cories again soon.

Well we are up to day10.

The fry are doing well, and there are some considerable size differences between the fry now, I have a few which are still smallish, and others that are nearly double the small ones size.

I'll post some pics tonight when I get home.

I installed an air driven filter last night, which took some time stupid thing wouldn't work properly,

I think I may have lost at least another of the fry, :(, but all the other look healthy, I did expect to lose a few as some seemed to have swim bladder defects.

With the size of the fry now, I may try them with some crushed pellets as some of them have mouths big enough to take it now.

Their colouration is nice now, from being transparent to being black, now the marking are obivously trilineatus. :D

Lovely little things, which have also started to swim with more direction and aim instead of randomly diving about the tank.

This I think will be a nice little post when they are bigger.
I will start to compile a document within the next few days, which I would hope will be of some use, a beginners guide by a beginner. This should show the mistakes I made and the things I found that worked, so other can take advice of what not to do from me :D

Sounds like thing are going well then. Great to hear.

How long did it take for your eggs to hatch?? Mine were layed on Monday, so I'm suppose tomorrow I should see some fry??

Look forward to some more pics of the youngsters.

:D

They hatched in about 3-4 days, I forgot to post pics last night, had a bit of a mad night, decided to sort a load stuff out at home.

I'll post some pics tonight, well try taking the GF out for dinner tonight, oh the trials and tribulations of life...

I Installed an air driven filter the otyher day when I got home I found the fry swimming about in it... so I've removed it now... grrr!! :fun:
