Day 2
Trilineatus_day2.png

As you can see they are a LOT bigger, you can see them on the camera better, they have visable eyes, and also you can see the pectoral fins.

Do they need feeding yet, the yolks see almost gone now...

 They are so adorable. They do grow really fast for the first few weeks. You will be surprised the change they go through.

I normally start feeding on day 3 with my pandas and when I still had bronze fry. Very, very little because they are very small and you don't want to over feed them or pollute the tank.

Your pics are very cute and they are so amazing.

:good:

Thanks,

I'll add a little amount of the liquifry tonight then after I've done a water change.

the pics would be even better if photobucket wasnt down for maintenence lol

HI §tudz :)

How cute they are!

I'll be looking forward to watching them grow up. :D

Well we are onto day three and all is looking good.

They are devloping really well, my bronze fry didnt develop anything like this and I managed to keep a lot of them alive for a week, :S

They now have clearly developed barbels that you cant see on the small image, and some have started to darken slightly from their translucentancey (is that a word?)

hehehe :D

 I love it when you can see their tiny barbels. They are so cute when they're small. Are the parents showing any signs of spawning again?? I had this with my pandas for a few months, collecting a few eggs each spawn, and have a tank full of panda fry. They are so cute and I love watching the wave of tiny pandas swim around (something I've always wanted).

Good luck and I look forward to watching these little guys grow.

:D

tbh I hardly see the cories they tend to hide in the shadows of the plants during the day light, and come out at night, so as before I wont know until it happens. hopefully they'll do it on a day off so I can collect that, as with my hours by the time I get home they will have been eaten :(

I've ordered a load of plants to day so I may diviey them up between my 20gal and my 15gal and put the cories in there :D

Well didnt have chance yesterday for a photo, but they have no started to show some colour and are more stable on there bellies, they dont roll over so much now ;) they have started to swim about the tank in a more dignified way.

I'll get a new pic tonight when I return from work.

Well there was no pic yesterday but I have a pic for you today:
Trilineatus_day5.png

As you can see they have started to develop some dark markings now.
I thought there were only about 7-8 but turns out there are 11

I had a bit of a disaster with them today :S

I added an air driven filler to the tank, and the air connectedto it had been iin the old fry tank, and was BLUE from the meth'.
I thought it was just stained, but seems it was a layer of dry meth' as when I turned it on the filter pumped out a load of blue gung :(

So I have had to do a 100% water change and clean the tank. Fry seem fine still which is good, they seem very hardy surviving this and also surviving the overing of the water within the first day of hatching.

I think I may loose 1 of the fry as its not able to sit properly like the other, it lulls to one side, and when it swims it spins in circles, it maybe a late developer as all the other were like this a few days ago. So fingers crossed for it. ;)

I'm so chuffed, I must have been doing something holy wrong with my bronze fry as they didnt grow this quick.

I'm now feeding a small blob of Liquifry every night when I get home from work.

When you u suggest I start to add crushed catfish food? I have some prima pellets too, which are high in protein would it be an idea to crush these and give them to the fry?

Cheers

Hi §tudz :)

They are growing wonderfully! It's amazing how they change during their first week or so.

You might try putting a flake or two in after another week or so and see if they recognize it as food. It will probably soften enough so they can nibble on it. Hikari bottom feeder wafers are very nutritious for them too, and they can be broken into pieces and still be easily removed if they aren't completely eaten after a reasonable period of time. Another thing you will be able to do soon is shave tiny bits off a block of frozen bloodworms for them.

I'm not familiar with the brand of pellets you have, but a balanced diet with a high protein content is good for growing fry. :D

oops it is called Promin 50% Protein lol

Well that fry that was looking ill has passed on :(

down to 10 now...

:-(

Well I've lost two of the fry :( but I still have 9 left and they are looking good.
Day 7:
Trilineatus_day7.png

They have really got the marking of their parents showing now, and they are starting to get fatter too :D

All the best with the fry, and keep the pics coming :good:

Just wondering is that bubble wrap, if so, why is that used? :fun:
